This is the very first Drowning the Light demo, recorded in 2003 and originally limited to 3 copies. It has never been released publicly, nor was it ever intended to be, as the re-recorded versions of the songs from the second demo and found on "The Longing" compilation are of much better quality, but after 20+ years and countless fake versions online (it has never leaked, only fools putting up entirely different music and lying by claiming it is this demo), it was time to embrace the primitive spark that ignited the flame that is DTL.
The audio on this CD was taken from one of the only tapes that exists, which itself had a lot of decay from the years as well as being poorly recorded in the first place, so there is some a skip or two, and some sound defects, so it is not a flaw in the CD but the recording itself. This one is for the diehard fans who wish to have a glimpse into the past. This is not for everyone.
Limited to 150 copies.

"On a personal note, this demo although primitive with some badly out of time drums that may make your eye twitch at times, and vocals that get unhinged at certain points - it was done with sincere hatred and disdain for the modern world.
It was recorded using an old 4 track I had, and at the time I did not even have a microphone to sing into, so I sung into a pair of old headphones (which I used as a "microphone" for all the 2003 demos and "Drowned").
I can't imagine many enjoying this release (hence the limitation), but it still holds a special place for me.
I did not want to "remaster" or "clean" this recording up because it just wouldn't feel right. I want to keep the essence of the recording intact. Preserving that 2003 spirit."
